What are we going to do about it?

We’re collecting sign-ups for the Hire North campaign to coordinate targeted career fairs in regions with strong interest. This strategic approach allows us to work with the right community organizations and create impactful events that connect local talent with Canadian businesses, fostering economic growth in communities across the country.

Once we have enough interest, we’re going to connect Community Organizations with the relevant interested employers, job seekers, volunteers, and sponsors in the HireNorth movement. To support, we’re going to provide the Withe Career Fair Platform for free. This enables community organizations to host more effective events with less resources.

We are then going to work with those community organizations to amplify local hiring initiatives, connecting job seekers with employers and on the ground support services tailored to each community's unique needs.

How you can help:

  1. Join the #HireNorth movement by completing our interest form, allowing us to connect you with relevant opportunities and resources in your area.
  2. Amplify our message through your networks, sharing the importance of hiring Canadian talent and supporting local economies using #HireNorth on social media.
  3. Actively participate in your local job market by hosting a career fair, volunteering your skills to support job seekers, or attending events to explore Canadian career opportunities.

Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Canada. Join us in shaping a future where Canadian talent drives our nation's success.

Conditions for free use of the Withe Career Fair Platform

We're excited to offer our Withe career fair platform at no cost to support the HireNorth initiative. To ensure this opportunity benefits our communities and aligns with our mission, we've established the following guidelines:

  1. Community-Focused Events: Fairs must be open and accessible to all community members, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunity.
  2. Non-Profit Approach: While nominal fees to cover costs are acceptable, the primary goal should be community benefit, not revenue generation. We encourage keeping candidate fees minimal or free when possible and discourage excessive charges.
  3. Strategic Partnerships: We aim to collaborate with community organizations, hubs, and government bodies (e.g., Employment Centres, Community Centres) to maximize impact.
  4. Brand Recognition: All events must include "HireNorth" in their description and list Withe as an official sponsor.
  5. Ethical Practices: Events should adhere to fair hiring practices and equal opportunity principles.
  6. Limited Liability: While Withe provides the career fair platform in good faith, we are not liable for any occurrences or outcomes at the events. Organizers are responsible for event management and participant interactions.
  7. Fair Distribution: To ensure diversity and broader reach, we initially limit each community organization to one free career fair (virtual or in-person). This approach allows us to support a wider range of communities and organizations.

We reserve the right to decline free platform use to any organization that doesn't meet these guidelines or for any other reason at our discretion. Our goal is to ensure the platform is used responsibly to benefit Canadian job seekers and employers.
